This brilliant series of artworks achieves a fantastic sense of scale to some of the massive problems facing America and the wider world.

His series of works entitled 'Running The Numbers - An American Self-Portrait' uses huge numbers of individual items to make up very large images highlighting environmental and social messages.

There are plenty of examples - from one showing 2,000,000 plastic beverage bottles used in the US every 5 minutes to the picture above which depicts 11,000 jet trails, equal to the number of commercial flights in the US every eight hours. (This is a tiny section of the picture blown up. the actual picture is 5 feet by 8 feet).
